There's a fair chance that the "creek" you reference could have been the Big Sur River, but hard to tell without knowing exactly which campground you were in. Love that area, will be heading out for many more trips there this year.

Haven't been to Jed Smith since I was a kid. May have to pull that one off in July....

You're a great photographer, thanks for sharing.

OOOHHH: Forgot to mention, that "scenic overlook" you mentioned and shot at the beginning is Hearst State Beach. Spent MANY hours there as a kid (we just called it "the cove") and there used to be a thriving charter fishing outfit off that pier (Virg's Landing, now exclusively out of Morro Bay) but a storm wrecked the pier and the rebuild didn't allow for the big charter boats.

Last bit of trivia: All the Hacienda set-pieces and many of the scenes from the Schwarzenegger stinker "Commando" were built / shot right there. If you watch THIS YouTube clip you can see the original pier in the background. I was there the day they blew up the set-pieces as my Dad was a lead Park Ranger there at the time.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, glad you had a good trip with your sis. Sorry for any thread drift!

Great pics. I was born and raised not too far from there in Santa Cruz. Live in Oregon now but I still get back every 2 or 3 years at least.

Great pics. I love that area and I too wouldn't mind returning as a squirrel.
    Thanks for sharing your trip.

Great shots of some great places. Made a trip through there 2 years ago and you really brought me back, thank you. The ferns were some of my favorites. I kept waiting to see one that was as big as those trees

Great pics. looks like you had a great trip. Haven't been in the redwoods since 1980.
