Longtime ground camper going to hang

I've always been a ground lurker, until now at least. Well, until I get my hammock in. I started at 464 pounds, which doesn't seem likely to find a hammock that'll hold up for any decent amount of time, but now that I'm down to 302, I told myself I'd get me a hammock when I got in to the 200's so I went ahead and ordered an ENO Doublenest with Atlas Straps. Ultimately, I'll be reading a ton around here and likely won't be posting all too often, just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Welcome to the forums. You might want to take a look at Dream Hammocks web page. They have a chart showing suggested fabric weights, etc. for a person's weight. http://www.dream-hammock.com/ChoosingPage.html
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

Well done with the weight loss, hope to hear back later that your under your goal. Like weight loss I have found that hammock ing starts with a change in the mindset. I have seen a couple enos and they look legit. Congrats on it all:weight loss, first post, and first hammock!

What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other travel. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.

Welcome, Mark! Congrats on the weight loss!

You'll love hammock camping. It's real comfortable once you get used to it. I like swinging gently in the breeze. Looking forward to completing a DIY cuben tarp soon. Had to go UL due to injuries and am thoroughly enjoying it.
