This is soooo much better than the raft I made, 6 barrels in a six-pack config with 2 sailors opposite ends.... center barrels were gear storage and cooler.
If this works, it opens up a whole new activity (soggy butt hangs, changing 4x4 supports to bamboo tripod stands on opposite corners (hmmm, savings of about 30 lbs?), mini grills using Dutch's Tarp Fly Grill, water soaked terry cloth beverage holders for convection cooling, the list goes on and on! Don't forget the Tenkara rig!
.... the Aardvark (earth pig)... a rather unremarkable creature whose sole claim to fame is that it is the first animal listed in the dictionary.

Personally I think you've over-engineered it halfway. Seems that one hammock for a double barrel float would work just fine. For the four barrel version you have, strap the bbq pit and cooler in the center and mount a hammock on each side. The shades can always be hung over more the water. Great job so far and pics of it floating!
PS: I liked the other idea of turning a flatbed trailer into one of these too.
