I love to camp. Family health issues prevent me from doing it as much as I would like but I still love to go out, as does my son. As I get older, I find sleeping on the ground, even with a pad, more and more uncomfortable. I have a bad back anyway so I wake up almost crippled on most trips. I have recently made some lifestyle changes (gave up gluten and started eating paleo) that have allowed me to lose some weight and I am hoping to get back into the bush very soon.
I am working on my first hammock project with my son. I found a bunch of nylon in the dollar bin at wally world and picked up about 21 yards. It isn't ripstop and definately not silnylon but I figure it should get me started. I am making a double layer hammock for me and a single layer for my boy. I will post pics once I get them done. I am also going to make a hex tarp and treat it with silicone and mineral spirits. Between those project and stuff sacks with the scraps, that should about use up all my fabric.
I look forward to hanging with you all.
