    Just ordered a Superfly

I am stoked...I just placed my order for a Superfly.
I have been looking for a large tarp I can use for any occasion, and being the Seattle area, it usually is raining.
I tried doing research for it, but it was so boring.....every one just kept saying how great it was, ha ha.

So, now just time to sit back and wait.

    Just ordered a Superfly

For what it's worth I love mine. Low and tight when it's cold or rainy and high in porch mode when it's nice. I am getting ready to send it 2QZQ for a center pole mod.

I'm just a couple hours north of you in Canada and the Superfly has saved my dry butt from being wet many a time since I got it, especially with the wet year so far.

Anyway, if you end up wanting to try a pole mod, conside this plan as an option before starting to sew if you don't mind a few extra ounces. Post is #16, sorry but don't know how to link to the exact post but scroll down and you'll see the pics. Works great for me unless I want to cut the weight, in which case I use the tie outs and a stick like in Warbonnetguys setup vids.

    Cheers and enjoy!

Dang Brady, that is a pretty ingenious setup. Where did you get the poles...and how did you know the right length?

Schooley, I saw the 2QZQ mod and I really like how simple and streamlined it looks. The mod from the is only $15 + shipping, but what about the poles?

The poles I used for mine as recommended by 2QZQ were from questoutfitters.com .344 easton nanolites. All the parts and pieces can be had there...Bush

Got them from another forum member whose posted those pics. He got a line on a pile of poles and sold them here on the forum. I can measure them for you tomorrow and they are the same poles Bush mentions, .344 Easton Nanolites.

My mod was done on an OES Ultra so length will differ. There are a couple options on how to set up the pole. I bought a bent middle piece however you can opt for a "straight pole" for increased spread. I emailed 2QZQ on basic measurements and I'm sure they can help you as well. You will need the rounded end caps for the pole ends and some shock cord to tie it all together, that's about it. Oh, and you will need one double female pole so your ends will accept the end caps if that makes sense.

    Thanks guys.

Brady, any info you can pass along would be great since I have the same tarp.
I like the 2QZQ mod, but just adding the two poles to the exterior seems like a great way to start at least. I am sure I can find old tent poles on Craigslist to get me started at least.

Wilderness Logics sells a kit for this if you like, complete with the poles & eyelets that connect to the tarp pull outs.

Good luck & congrats on the new kit - you'll love it.
