I did a youtube search after I saw your post. It looks pretty simple, I may have to go in business for myself splicing
zing-it LOL.

Yep. I just looked again. That's exactly what I meant, weaving needle. I edited my previous post. Thank you for noticing that.
I have a question, could this polemod function in the same way as tensioners?
Taking up the stretch from when the tarp gets wet/damp that is.
cpverne,
I just got a superfly. Thanks for the post, you rock.
Insufficient time to do the mod before returning to the trail. you ROCK.
Thought I'd share what I ended up using for my pole mod. I made 4 very small whoopie slings out of 1.75mm Zing-it. It started as an experiment/practice for making whoopie slings before my amsteel arrived and turned out to be a nice feature to be able to adjust the slings as desired. I don't have the measurements right now but can try to find out if requested!

I, with help from my Dad, came up with a similar method using Zing-It. I made 4 continuous loops measuring 4.5" long. I used 2" buries and 1/2" tapers at the end (total bury is 2.5" with tapered end). I larks head these onto the tarp pullouts (using the brummel lock side of the loop) and then just wrap the top of the loop around the pole end twice. This is super light weight and super simple. He is going to try the same method, but splice them onto the pull outs so they won't come off and get lost. I'm not too worried about that as I keep my tarp in Mountain Goat's no-seeum snake skins.

So i have a question, when using this polemod on the panel pulls, does this have the same affect as using Zing-It in higher winds to prevent the sides caving inwards?
