Fallkniven, do you remember what measurements you used for those dogbones?

    Thanks

No, but I pulled one off. They're about 7 3/4" long. The smaller eye is the one attached to the pole, the larger one was made a bit bigger to make it easy girth hitching it to the tie out. The smaller hole ended up about a 1/2".

@Fallkniven Besides the dog bones. What are the dimensions and accessories of the dimensions of the poles you used? Also, where did you order them?

I really want to pull the trigger on this mod, but I am wondering about the stress that it creates at the pullouts. Since the pullouts are being pulled up rather than out, has anyone seen any detrimental effects?

    Thanks!

You can add an angled piece in the center to cause the pull to be outward as I did on my Cloudburst tarp... https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=83312

The amount of stress put on the pull outs are dtermined by how long your connectors (ie. dogbones, grommets) are. Besides, It won't be anymore than tying it to a tree/stake...

I know that I can control the amount of stress on the pullout. I am just concerned that it is being pulled in a direction it was not intended to be pulled. (I would hate to spend all that money on a nice tarp only to put a hole in it due to user error!)

I wouldn't concern myself with it, it's not getting all that much stress...

Looking at the picture again, you can see it pulls them pretty much straight out, but I think I see where your getting at, how it's pulling up on the tab instead of out. It should be fine, there's not too much force on it, I never gave it a thought before hand...
