The sag in the middle is the first thing I noticed, and is the main reason I wanted to try this way. Having an extra pole section to set up a porch mode might be nice as well. I ended up using 5 18" sections per pole with the intention of cutting one down a little, but with them being long it seems to have a more outward pull on the pullouts (versus upward). One thing I noticed is that the poles need to be attached where they cross for it to stay up without it flopping over. I'll probably grab a clip off of an old tent to make the whole thing hassle free.

Here is the pole mod I did on my MAMAJAMBA tarp. Cost was 4.99 for the poles.

^^ ah found these. looks like another Version.

I tried to locate the REI Dome Poles.. No longer in stock.. Drats..

Found this tent pole at our local store ( bi-mart) $9.00 I think was the price. they have two thickness, the one in photo is small dia.

need to buy this before they too go out of stock..
