Superfly setup with Ridgerunner question

I noticed that you can't close the top of the tarp door because the lines coming off each side of the spreader bar are about 6 inches apart where it crosses the tarp doors.

I'm a newbie and haven't received my Ridgerunner yet so I haven't really experienced whether this is a problem in wind/rain. I happened to run across a video that talked about it. They also had not used it yet in wind/rain.

I live in Colorado and it's not uncommon for the rain/snow to be flying nearly horizontal at times. I am a little bit concerned about it.

Is this a problem? If so, has anyone come up with a solution?

Which is why Brandon made the Cloudburst to match the ridgerunner.

I have a superfly with my RR, and I love it, I just have to be careful to offset the tarp to the side opposite where I enter so it will have a little more room...

In inclement weather, You can tie one side low and the other high to clear the spreader bars... The side tie-outs let you widen the tarp stance... Just be careful getting in and out.

You could modify the RR suspension and shorten the lines coming from each end of the spreader bar.

Using a 10x12 rectangular tarp with my Ridgerunner - 12' ridgeline. When weather is bad and storm-mode is needed I'll fold-in the corners to make doors and sometimes place a smallish tarp across the upwind end of the tarp, like a grizz-beak. Leeward site-selection is important and angle of ridgeline to prevailing winds is too!

I've not had any issues so far with rain or snow entering the tarp. There is some suspension hanging out of each end; but that is high and near the apex of the tarp ridgeline - so far not a problem.

Despite all this, i've just ordered a tarp with a 13' ridgeline and doors

the end of the hammock (not suspension but hammock) from the door is well far enoughto not matter and in a worst case you could through your rain gear over it in a pinch, if REALLY needed. My .02

I noticed that the SF is the same size as the CB. The only diff seems to be that the panel pullouts are set farther off center and the CB "solves" the door problem by not having any.

Based on what you guys wrote, though, I think I'll just give it a go and see whether it's a problem or not.

I just watched the 3rd part of tmurray9999's youtube pole mod vid. He shows various configurations for "hunkering down" that provide a solution. What he does is remove the foot spreader bar and ties the 2 hammock support ropes together. That allows him to move the tarp up towards the head end and completely close the foot door. Moving the tarp allows the head end to be closer to the apex of the triangle formed by the spreader bar and its ropes so the door closes better.
