get a biner an your set.
Or save some weight and get some Dutch Bling (clips) http://dutchwaregear.com/dutch-clip.html

Get the BB my wife and both love ours and I want to make her mad I tell her I am going to sell hers

If you decide you do not like the BB ( had to believe but it does happen) you can sell it here on the forum for almost full price and they usually sell in less than a day.

My wife uses a 1.0 dbl (no longer made) and I use a 1.1 dbl and 1.7 bdl.

    Thanks for the posts everyone.

I may very well be sleeping in the hammock each night outdoors for many nights at a time.

I don't have a problem taking it down each night if that will save the tarp -- but now that I think about it a cheap canvas or poly that I leave in place might be much better.

I use the HH Explorer & love it. If weight is not an issue, the HH is a quality piece of gear. The stock suspension is very rugged & easily hung using the double descender ring w/ straps. I have lightened my pack burden by swapping for the whoopie sling suspension.

I also use the HH Hex tarp. Works well and it is another well built item.

This all said, I have no experience with the WBBB hammock. But it is going to be one of my next purchases. Hope this helped.

I'm a complete hammock newbie and I went with the WBBB. Almost blindly. My other hanging friends also use it and I was quite familiar with it before even ordering it. So I figured it'd be a good choice for me too. (Not the most pragmatic thought process, but I at least know what I'm into!)

I'm a 6'3" Toronto boy with both a HH Expedition and a recently acquired WBBB.

While I've only spent two nights in the WBBB, it seems quite comfortable so far. I had been using a HH Expedition for a few years and I found it quite comfortable, if not a little cramped.

You'll do well either way, but I'd lean a bit more towards the WBBB. My only complaint is that the zipper seems a little dainty after the big chunky DIY'er I put on my HH.

As far as the tarp goes, if you're hanging at home, I'd go with maximum coverage in case the weather turns. Griz-beaks or doors go a long way towards weatherproofing your system. You don't need anything expensive. Poly tarps would do in a pinch.

Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums...

I have the WBBB single 1.7 with whoopies. I like that between the webbing suspension from the BB and my whoopies I should be able to make most distances between trees. If you already like sleeping in hammocks then the WBBB is a great choice.

I have a mamajamba tarp, still to be tested against the elements.

If you plan to leave it out in the weather, there is no way I would do that to a good tarp. WallyWorld poly, ftw.
OG is wise. Spend your money on a good hammock, get a cheap tarp for now...

    Farm grade tarps last longer.
