I've been reading and posting a little bit and I thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm a new hanger in the eastern Ontario area and I love these forums. It's such an enthusiastic and helpful group of people. I never was very "outdoorsey" and preferred car camping but over the winter time, I was diagnosed with type II diabetes and knew it was time to make changes. I've switched from eating crap to real food and I exercise every day now. I'm down 44 lbs since Christmas. 20 more to go. I now love humping my pack around the woods and canoeing to remote sites in nearby Frontenac Provincial Park. Since I also have severe sleep apnea, I take my CPAP machine with me wherever I go (including the hammock), so if anyone is looking for information or tips about CPAP hammocking, I can offer my perspectives. With the help of the forums, I've now learned to splice Amsteel and manufacture my own trees (Turtle Lady Stand). If there are any group hangs in Ontario or even Northern New York state, I'd be up for it. I'm especially looking forward to fall and winter camping.
