    Shock Cord Knot

What knot do you recommend for attaching shock cord to a tent pole insert? I just ordered my center pole mod from 2QZQ and my tent poles from Quest and will be making my center pole soon. Thanks!

I used an overhand on a bight for mine since the tail end would lay flat and made it easier to stuff the knot back into the pole. There are probably a bunch of fishing knots that would work, but they seem more complicated than needed for shock cord.

I'm partial to the Ashley stopper knot myself. Works wonderfully in cordage, and for stretchy stuff, needs a bit more dressing, but works well, and uses minimal length.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I like the double overhand stopper knot. Its quick and not too big if you need it to fit inside a tent pole.

I did an overhand noose knot. Pretty low profile and when tied in the correct direction the tail wants to run parallel with the standing line.
