Some interesting ideas put forth with the design.

"Reflective Heat Technology". I guess it would be cooler in an arid environment.

Built in water collection with screens. When it rained, you'd not be so concerned about a nearby water source.

On the other hand, looking at their video, it seems that the tarp hardly covers the Kammok Roo.

I think they should put some of their ideas here, or ask the members as there is a lot of history and a lot of ideas that have already been thought through...

Mods, thanks again for the great forum too!

Being a hammock noob I had never seen Hennessy's design so this seemed pretty unique to me.

Your right sargevining, this does seem to be a solution in need of a problem. This seems like a piece of unnecessary hammock bling when one could achieve similar results with their existing lighter tarp and a few water bottles.

The reversible heat reflecting fabric is interesting. Wonder how well it work and how heavy a tarp of that material would be without the extra water collection system.

hummm,,,I've collected and filtered water off my cuben tarps before with no effort as its not hard to do at all. why would I want to pay extra for the additional weight or a special tarp to do this? Seems like a no brainer to me as its a lazy man's way to collect water. Just be sure to filter it as you do all water.

I was kind of thinking the opposite...how far Kammock has fallen to get involved with Bear Grylls. Having him endorse your gear kind of says "hey, you'll do something stupid then head to the hotel bar so it's OK".

Chance are if it's raining then there's some surface water somewhere nearby or at least a puddle to filter from. So far I haven't seen a need to collect water from my tarp. The bottles would be kind of a nice "ballast" in a hard storm. The extra weight might keep the edge from flapping so that could be a benefit.

    Just my $.02

Or perhaps the full bottles could become heavy, wet missles flung into your lap.

And don't forget bugs and of course bird waste, but hey, you got to have your protein.

I'll give you a big +1, Cannibal. I saw it at Hennessy as well, and the same things crossed my mind........RR
