    Underrated Hammock Benefits

The most underrated benefit of the RR is

    the views!

I love the Ridgerunner for the comfort. I love it for the saddlebags. I REALLY love it for the fit with the Lynx UQ (no other hammock/UQ fit comes close, IMO).

That being said, a few weekends ago I went camping with the scouts and didn't need to put up a tarp. I spent nearly an hour that night watching the stars and enjoying the fact that, even with the bug net up, I had unobstructed views in every direction. A gathered end hammock's views are good, but the RR's are GREAT.

So, what's an underrated feature of a hammock you love - and why?

Some views of my RR setup that weekend:

The picture doesn't do it full justice. The netting is much less noticeable than it appears here.

    Not sure if its underrated.....

But my favorite thing about a hammock is how without an underquilt, you can cool off REAL quick when there is a breeze.

After a long sweaty nasty florida hike, it feels GREAT to have that heat swept away from under you

I just don't hear folks talking about that as one of the main benefits as much as some others sometimes.

The cooling effect of the hammock on a hot day is an amazing thing!

Going tarpless, and falling asleep watching the starts, and shooting stars too of course.

I've noticed that most people do not go tarpless very often. Me however, I do it any chance I have.

    Re: Underrated Hammock Benefits

That's the main reason I got the rr was for the view. If I'm out in a hammock I want to see what's doing around me else I may as well be in a tent. I like the swing.

Making tent campers jealous is probably my favorite.

My favorite feature is the Weathershield on my Clark NX250. It's great when it's cold or damp out - keeps the temp about 10 degrees higher inside.

I think my favourite feature is lounging in the hammock during a downpour under the Superfly. I've camping for years with two friends and Being the last to join our group had always been stuck with my own tent and no company in a storm. Now, I set up the tarp and if it's not to windy, a modified porch mode to shed ater better and they bring the camp stools so we can play cards or music in comfort.
