Hennessy Explorer Deluxe vs Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro

    Hello Gents

I am new to hanging out and looking to purchase my first hammock. I have it narrowed down to the Hennessy Explorer Deluxe or the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro.
I am open to other suggestions, these two just seem to be the most available in Canada, as I would like to use a hammock on my 4 day hike next month.

Thanks in advance for any advice

I'll give my opinion. I've seen the Skeeter Beater Pro, and it's a decent hammock.

But, if you're ordering your Hennessy directly from the company, I'd suggest going with them, and do the upgrade to a Hex tarp. Also, for the extra couple of bucks, get their longest tree straps.

Going that route will get you the tree straps, a hex tarp, one set of snake skins, and the HH ED hammock...whereas the SBP only comes with the hammock.

You need to test, I purchased a HH Explorer Dx. Then I won a smaller lighter HH. I loved it compared to the Explorer. Explorer is fairly heavy, so you need to think about that. I can only see sky out of my Explorer, so no watching things like deer or rodents.

I have found after buying six (6) hammocks that the smaller lighter hammocks work best for me. Personal taste, experience. I picked my hammocks using mfg. specifications and the experience of others. Experience showed me what works for my individual needs. My cheap little Brit made hammock works the best for me. The quality is good, I am happy with it, it is not a big name like HH, it is just a start-up company. It is easy for me to get into and out of, I can see things around me. Suites me fine.

    Hennessy

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I am going to go with the Hennessy from the MEC in my area. It does not come with the hex rainfly, but it is only $216 which is $60 cheaper than buying straight from Hennessy after choosing the hex fly and the price of shipping.

As for the choice of the explorer, I am 6'4 and wouldn't be able to fit in any lighter models
