    NY did the same thing, some of the old RR beds have been improved and some just cleared and barricaded against cars. It looks like a lot of interesting places to stealth camp. Hammocks are great for that! At least around here one can track the RR right of ways by following the lines of trees. Excellent for hanging.

    Have cycled across the USA 3x so far. Used a hammock for the last 2. Finding places to hang was easy.

    Bikepacking with a hammock - a wonderful way to go!

    You mentioned a trailer... Here's a BOB knockoff I built:


    Allows me to pack a little "looser" when I'm heading out, kinda like your not wanting to over-compress your down TQ or UQ. The single-wheel design allows me to run the mountainbike trails too, something that wouldn't be possible with a two-wheeled trailer.
