    New from Central VA

Well, to start off, I have not been camping since I can remember. My last experience when camping was in a tent, and I recall camping using a cheap hammock (nothing ripstop), a sleeping bag, and a blue tarp to keep the rain off. Considering trying some camping again, and really liked staying in the hammock the one time I did. So as far as that, I enjoy being outdoors, and spending time with family. Just Looking to learn. I have plenty of places accessible for good camping in the area I live, so I'm not concerned with location so much as just learning. Any tips would be appreciated.

Welcome from NC. My best advice is to perfect your setup at or close to home. Hanging in the backyard is fun and great practice. Then your backpacking trips will be much more enjoyable.

I don't know if I trust anyone from "Central Va"

Awfully vague if you ask me. You in the witness protection plan or something?

    I think you're hiding something...

    Hi from Crozet.
