Hiking this weekend: wife just said OK to hanging.

My wife and I are headed to North Manitou Island this weekend for a hike around the perimeter. We we're going to bring the tent and pads but tonight we decided to bring the smaller packs and the tent doesn't for in them... She said she would like to use my Blackbird 1.0 for the first time. I'll be staying in my crinkle (no net ). There is almost no chance of rain and the low is in the 50's. I will be bringing my only underquilt for her and I'll eat warm food.

My wife is an adventurous woman and tends to embrace most any outdoor activity she hasn't done before to see for herself if she likes it. I'm really excited to introduce her to hammock camping and really hope she enjoys the experience.

Rain is at a 10% chance, but you never know on the islands in the Great Lakes...
The plan is to bring my tarp which is rather large and stack hammocks if the rain beats the odds...

Both hammocks are permethrin treated, so we should be good at night.

I'm quite excited. She is an amazing cook at home and had recently taken to making all of our backpacking meals before hand and cooking them up in creative ways. Our last trip had a surprise: one of the best peach cobblers I have ever had. She dehydrated the ingredients, mixed it all up in a designated Nalgene, and "baked" it with just a lidded pot... I don't know what the surprise is this time.
