I think angrysparrow uses one as his primary hammock.
Trust nobody!
Yes indeed.
My Traveler is a simple and lightweight double layer gathered end hammock. The two layers are sewn together around the perimeter, excepting a YKK zipper along one edge allowing access to the space between the layers to place a pad or vapor barrier. It is available in single-layered model as well, but I don't see a downside to multi-layers.
The dimensions are well chosen, and I find it to be exceptionally comfortable. I've used it successfully with a whole range of quilts/pods/socks/covers and it works fine with all I've tried. It is uncomplicated, and versatile. On top of that, it's made by a cottage gear builder right here in the U.S.
For use anytime that bugs aren't a problem, it's my very favorite hammock. I guess I'm a fan of it's simplicity.

I agree with Angrysparrow about the Traveler. I spent two nights camping this weekend, and happened to have my Hennessy ULBP and Traveler in the car. I thought I would have bug troubles with the warmer weather, so I used the Hennessy. After I realized that the bugs weren't out, I spent the second night in the traveler. I really dread the warmer weather, as I don't like messing with netting, complications, and claustrophobic hammocks.
Is the traveler an asym shape or anything other than a gathered end hammock? I have been wondering for quite some time...
just a double layered end gathered hammock with a 4' zipper to open and insert the pad, available in single layer as well
If I remember right, you had a special way of gathering the ends that resulted in a big ball where the whipping is. I think there was a cord running through it like a channel, but it seemed to pull into a different shape than the ATHH does, which is also a channel with a cord through it.
Do you still use this method?
yes, it's whipped just like the bb
