Does a single layer hammock stretch more?

I'm considering a WBBB XLC and trying to decide between a 1.1 DL or a 1.7 single layer. I'm thinking the single layer will be a little more "stretchy". If so is that a good thing or bad. Will it give a flatter lay or have more sag? Or is there no difference in comfort between single layer and double hammocks?

I just ordered a 1.7 single BB, so that's what I'm going with since I'm not interested in using pads. I'm not that large of a guy (185 lbs), so I felt that the single would give me more than enough support. I'll be spraying the outside fabric with Permithrin to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Sounds like a good set up to me.

I'm also about 185 pounds and won't be using a pad. That's why I'm leaning toward the single layer, but I wonder how they compare in the way you lay in the sweet spot.

The thinner the material the more it will stretch. Its a personal thing as to the comfort of the the stretchier feel. I don't mind it. I am 250lbs and use a 1.7 SL BB.

    Thanks Thom,

I didn't remember that part about the flatness. I'm going for the 1.7 SL
