Hey everyone. Im trying to put a bug net together for a trip I have coming up real soon. Sadly, the ol thread injector was on its last legs and gave up on me last night. Anyone have any ideas on how to follow a Fronkey type net but doing so without sewing? Im wondering if you could use velcro to put it together. Any thoughts?
Glue on Velcro... not sure that is a good idea.
When do you need it? Sewing netting by hand is pretty easy.

I'm off to my trip June 28th so time is tight between work and school and such. That's why I was thinking about the velcro, I figured it might work but then again im not all that savvy in the DIY world yet.
Duct tape to the rescue! Seriously, everywhere you would run a line of stitches use duct tape. It won't be perfect, it won't be pretty, but it should work... temporarily at least. I just made a prototype HUG net last night using tulle and duct tape. Nary a stitch in it!

Duck tape might do the trick long enough for me to make it through the trip! Id send it to ya gargoyle but I wouldn't be able to get it out till Saturday at the earliest.
It would add weight but a hot glue gun could also work. Glue along the diagonals and turn it inside out. There are several types of hot glue. Get one that remains more pliable. As long as you don't put too much stress on the seams it should hold you for a trip. Cut and glue (or tape) it a bit long so when you return you can sew it up right when you have the time. -J
Also I agree with John, I am not sure I would try to glue on velcro. You are more likely to separate the velcro from the netting than separate the hooks and loops. - J
What about that iron on fabric tape? That stuff is really strong on my jackets and such.
