I ve done it a couple of times and its great. Cell phone reception has greatly improved but its AM radio only down there. We swam everyday. We ate at Cass, Dirt Bean Cafe & Bikeshop, Jack Horners Store. And a great visit to WV's!

I am planning on attending many hangs north of here once my wallet can support the gas. Making my own gear is cheaper than driving alone.
I meant Bikepacking kit. I haven't shown it to anyone yet. I have learned a lot after building my own pack that will go into the next design. And keep an eye out for my MK 3 and 4 packs to be done in another two weeks or so.

Started packing today.
I decided on the JRB Greylock III for this trip UQ wise...now you might wonder why since it's summer....I've just gotten cold in WV in the summer, and each day they're calling for possible showers which can drop the T and cool a rider off real quick.
Luckily I amonst others have been chosen by Underground Quilts to beta a new quilt. So my TQ will be a new synthetic model rated to 40F. One thing that steers some of us away from syntetic is pack size-happy to report that both quilts+Traveler+sock still fit in a medium eVent compression bag that rides under the handlebars.
I cozied up under this synthetic this afternoon before stuffing it in the eVent and it's got a nice hand to it. I'll report on using it soon enough.
I would absolutely love to go on this trip with you all, but unfortunately I cannot at this time, but there's always the future.

I hope you all have a great time. I have paddled the Greenbriar a couple of times and thought the bike trail looked like a lot of fun. Beautiful area, great river. The pace sounds conducive to lots of good times.

I rode the grt last week... Caldwell to Cass and back... camping along the way... five days four nights... it was awesome
alienjenn-please share pics/vids if you have them. We've done a lot of rail-trails over the last couple of years and the GBRT is the ruler of them all....of course don't have to tell you that
I did look into a fishing lisc. for this trip....but $40ish for one trip was too much I thought....stealth fishing? I think I'll carry a camera for the camp down time..and I've got something to show Yoda on the video

It was beautiful... and the water was higher than I've ever seen it... I've probably been eight or ten times (although this was the first time I finished the while darn thing!) And it's one of our favorites
