    superfly continuous ridgeline

    I have a superfly on the way I would like to make a continuous ridgeline using zing-it. How long should i cut the cord. For now i wont be using any hardware just knots.

    Most folk use around 40' I think.

    I would work out the max distance between trees you want to hang plus max tree circumference. If you are going back to the tarp I.e. dejoha's method then double it minus rl length the add a foot or two for knots.

    Thats what I done, I got 38' and a spare 15' in my pack if I need an extension.

    I have 30 on the wife's superfly. On occasion it has been tight, but for the most part it has been adequate. We usually hang on small trees.
