There are a number if threads on mule tape. Do a search... let me know if you cannot find it.
I have lots of the stuff, but I would.not use it as tree straps unless you're pretty light. The general consensus is that 1" straps protect the tree well...

Have a 30' hank here that chazham sent to me. It is 11/16" (?) DURA-LINE WP 25 rated at 2300# by their web site.
It weighs 6.3 ounces or .21 per foot.
