Light Bug Net

I need a bugnet for my 11' x 5' DIY hammock. It needs to be light for backpacking and I don't have time to make one or wait for materials to come in the mail. The two fairly light ones that I know about that would work for me are the BIAS buginator or the one Wilderness logics sells. I want full coverage so the HUG doesn't appeal to me. The simplicity of the buginator appeals to me, its basically what I was going to make myself. The lightest version of the buginator is just under 8 ounces, the wilderness logics with a zipper is around 10 oz. Are there others that compete with those weight-wise that I may be missing? It kills me to buy something I could make (especially something this easy), but it never hurts to stimulate the economy. Thanks.

I've always liked the looks of the TED net. not sure what it weights in at, but seep entry, no zipper, so it could/should be light.

Fronkey's DIY is always a solid tried and true standby.

I use both. Other than weight and packability, haven't noticed a difference at all. Concerns about the nano being hot are way over my head - if the bugnet is deployed it's because of my concerns of being bit, which way outweigh any concerns I have about being hot.

I find them both to be very breathable.

I've read posts from people who said the smaller opening, ultralight netting doesn't breath as well as "Regular" netting. It's plenty hot and humid here ... Flying bugs are also a problem but not too bad. I remember that the Mosquitos are plentiful and big along the shore in NJ.

I just can't tell the difference between the two as far as airflow, personally. I'd go for the lighter weight Nanobuginator.

I grew up in Alabama, but also lived in Georgia. I thought the mosquitoes down there were bad, but the mosquito is the NJ state bird. We have a variety of mosquitoes here, not just a few species. And NJ doesn't even have the worst mosquitoes I've seen - that would be Massachusetts.

And I don't have any evidence, but it sure seems like NJ is even more humid than Alabama in the summer.

dream hammocks bug sock, 5.5 - 8oz depending on your specs. seems to pack up small. i do not own one but papa smurfs stuff is great. just one more option.
