So I fell into my buginator when I missed the edge of my hammock and caused a few small holes about the size of a nickel. What is the bet way to go about repairing these? Do I need to patch it with the same material or can I simply stitch it up?

I shot you a PM, but that small of a hole could probably be stitched up without effecting the use.
Agreed. Run some thread through the edge of the holes and connect back across to the other side. Bet it will work fine.
I've been repairing bugnets on tents (and a few hammocks) forever - one of the easiest repairs to do. A few stitches and you're good as new!
