I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Who's hitting the trail for Fathers Day

Wish I could but I have to work on Saturday!!!
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.

I'm heading up to the AT after work to deliver some trail magic to my old next door neighbor who is thru-hiking. My old Kelty Red Cloud is filled with salsa, chips, cookies and (soon) 10 beers (I'm glad it's only a 2 mile hike in). I plan on hiking back out tonight since I have some volunteer work to do at 8:00 in the morning and it's about an hour and a half from home, but I do have my tarp, hammock and quilts packed too (above the beer on ice) just in case I don't feel motivated to hike out tonight.

I'll be heading to Mohican SF early a.m. tomorrow for some hiking and an overnight hang at one of the Park & Pack sites.

Taking my 19-year-old daughter on her first backpacking trip and first night sleeping in a hammock on Father's Day. We'll see if she can pound out 7.5 miles in the NJ Pine Barrens - flat as a board terrain so she should be allright.
