Could be lighter. It's probably a foot longer than it needs to be toward dthe ground. In fact it drug the ground probably 2-3 inches this last time out but I don't always hang at the same height.
Next step with this bug net is to use fabric glue (I cant find it at the moment) and glue in corner pockets to catch a few pebbles or a stone.
Ultimately it is light only because it's one sided-using the w/b cuben side of the sock as the other side.

Nah, didn't seam it to the other side....it is only attached at each end of the hammock rig...to the Dutch biner that the hammocks amsteel clips into.
I drap 4-5 inches of the thulle over the ridgeline, when i get in the hammock that 4-5 inch excess gets pulled against the cuben side causing occlusion.
So to remove just unclip at each biner.
At first I used shock cord in a cont. loop and mitten hook...now I'm just using stout rubber bands, very light and easily replaced.
Sorry...wasn't very clear there in my last post. I meant, "If you made a normal net that way, it might come in at 3.5 oz or so, seeing as how a sheet of it large enough to cover one side of the hammock was 1.6 oz." (Did the math wrong in addition to being unclear...not my night, I guess...) That's a durned light net.
