Q: has anyone tried this yet?

Hi folks. There were a couple threads on this superhydrophobic spray after a promotional video was released a couple years ago. Hadn't seen anything recently.

I'm wondering if there are folks that have seen this product and have tried it. If so, what did you try it on...tarps, shoes, packs?? What's the experience been like? How long does the treatment last?

    Thanks!

This is the first I've seen it on the market available to consumers. Buy some and let us know how well it works!

I wonder how it would affect nylon.

I'm actually very tempted to get some and spray an old tent rain fly and floor that needs a new coat of DWR to see if it works.

One problem for me is the price. $19.97 = "2-step kit covers 10 - 15 sq. ft."

A 10'x10' tarp is 100 sq. ft. and would require $140-$200 of this material.

Nice to see it finally out in the market. I suspect it must work very well if Rust-Oleum bought the rights to it. With coverage as expensive as $2.00/sq ft. I cant see it flying off the shelves. Then again, there are guys like me that have to get some just out of curiosity. I think I'll try it out first on my dog.

I think it would good to treat down underquilts with it.
It would also be really cool to treat the windshield of a car with it. No more wiper blades in the rain!
