Tarp guyline length

Using figure 9s as tensioners on prussiks so that needs to be accounted for. Tarp is a wb edge.

If it helps I have a superfly and I have 8' lengths on the corners that I use porch more and 4' for all others. I use the valdian tresse (sp) knot up at the corners to keep things tight. This way I can tighten the guy lines under the tarp so when it rains I don't get wet.

I use 6' and no hardware. My big tarp uses 8' for more options.

I use 8' lines on the corners as well with a tautline hitch for adjustability. I like to tie off to other objects if I can rather than stake down. So having 8' leaves enough to do so without getting too crazy.

word. 8 feet sounds good. think i'll just tie some loops for stakes and adjustable knots on tarp end like you guys. put those 4 figure 9s to better use

I run 6' with a loop to the stake and prusik loops to the tie outs- no knots to tie in the field and under tarp adjustment. I'd put those figure 9's to use and not worry about the added length. Guylines can't really be too long, only too short in my opinion. Longer than needed just means you have to control the excess.

8' is a good idea for eliminating stakes, time for me to order more zing it
