I've seen a few different seams used for a tarp ridge line. Are there any inherent advantages/disadvantages of on over the other?
The two most common I see are a flat felled, and a flat felled/french hybrid.

Rev can probably educate us on the technicalities, but the hybrid felled french is much easier to sew, at least for me, since you don't have to tuck anything in as you go like on the flat felled. Try a few of them on some scraps and see which is easier for you. They all serve the purposes of hiding the raw edge and having the tension stitches go through multiple layers.

THIS is the method I use, as I find it easiest to execute. What variation of the flat felled it technically is I'm not sure, but I call it a flat felled and it has served me well.
Good luck,

Love that seam and it comes out nice and neat if you press the first fold in with a cool iron.
My next tarp will be like the one Streamline made with no seam on the top. I didn't have the cash to buy it when it when he had it up for sale, so it will be a winter project.

Thanks for that link Redoleary! I wish I saw it yesterday before I started thread injecting my tarp. Oh well, there's always the next one.
My pleasure. I saved that vid. to my favorites when I saw it before I lost it again. It's so easy to do with that method.
Good luck,
