Hi Y'all,

New member from Ayrshire, Scotland.

Anyone else from around here?

Just got my first hammock (Hennessy Expedition) after seeing my friend's Tenth Wonder (UK make) on our last camping trip.

I must admit, this being the first hammock camping set-up I had seen, I was a little sceptical at first. But, upon waking up after sharing my tent with several tree roots, and hearing about my friend's 'comfiest night ever', I jumped on the hammockwagon pretty much straight away.

Now I think I'm addicted and I haven't even used it yet.

Spending most of my days off at the moment messing around with homemade stoves, planning first Hamping trip, and watching Shugemery on Youtube.

I don't know what the hennessy stock suspension is like so not sure how much use the storm rings will be.

Just did a bit more research and I don't think they are really needed. Folks are saying just use a shoelace. Will experiment when am out. Definitely seems no need to cut the rope anyway.

I enjoyed seeing a little bit of Scotland as a college student 35 yrs ago. Had lots of fun traveling with a Britrail pass and staying in youth hostels. Beautiful countryside! Saw lots of sheep. Think I spotted Nessie!
