Water Proofing spray, a Cat's meow stuff

Yea, hope this is right spot.

    Amazing stuff.

This stuff looks amazing.. and can be applied to about anything.. to shed water. Yep, first thing I thought about.. Hammock protection, the UQ & Tarps Etc.. let alone the gear.

Yep, it will be a cat's meow in keeping dry while hanging in the tree's..

hmmm did not read the MSDS on it?.

    Enjoy..

    Cost is not bad..

Looks like soon to hit the HD stores..

I thought about tarps too when I first saw this. Thought 1.1 oz ripstop uncoated then treated with this. I do wonder how long it lasts though.

My first thought was "Now I can keep my slacks dry, when I am out and about in the rain". I am thinking it will help me keep my car seats cleaner, my 105 pound dog has long fur that brings a lot of junk into my vehicle and my top bedding. I could treat my bedspread and her bed to protect and make cleaning easier.

$20 for 10-15 square foot coverage
    http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleu...6#.UccvQZw0zKd

Lets see 10x 10 tarp is 100square ft so over $100 to cover it
I would like to see how long it would last before spending $100 to cover a tarp
might work great for the seams though
"HANGING OUT" has taken on a whole NEW MEANING

Given time with demand the price should come down.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

Am I the only one whose first thought was "OK what's in it and what are the likely long term health and environmental implications of this chemical?"

With most of these home applied treatments much is lost to the environment during the application process and the first time of use. There is considerable evidence of environmental toxicity of some DWR compounds already in use and factory applied to many garments. I would be very hesitant to add to the list of compounds in our water and soil.

    I'll stick with Nikwax!

Neverwet is now available at Home Depot and manufactured in Lancaster and is a two stage process. Its very exciting... I will be treating clothing tarps and a Kayak bottom.

There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

The description on the home depot link above, says it covers 15 square feet. So anyone thinking for use on a hammock tarp, just be aware. I was also thinking of coating my car with it to keep it clean, but it doesn't dry clear on glass so that is a non starter.

Now when this becomes available in a 2 part liquid form in liter or larger cans, the we can start talking.

    Cheers

    Brian
