    Beaks are typically smaller extensions of the tarp at the ridge to help with rain coverage. ZQ made these doors for me so I could gain more inside storage. She isn't making them for sale yet, but if you can sew, doors can be added fairly easily. The zippers on mine may or may not be a good idea, time will tell how well they hold up. So far so good, but I'm careful with them.

    is it possible to have a peak the size of your doors and still have it called a peak? 8)

    If so i'm thinking the doors might not always be needed because you can just exit out the other open end.

    I'm not sure I understand your question but yes the doors aren't always needed and are then tied back like this:



    But when the wind is blowing, the doors are greatly appreciated.

    IMO, for the weight of additional doors, there are better options than the Ultra.
