    Portable Stand

Made this hammock stand today. Used 2x8’s for the base, 2x6 for the feet and 2x4 for the outrigger, upright.

The uprights just slip between the guides you see in one of the photos. They are at 60* and I had two deck screws ¾ “ from the bottom so the uprights don’t slip to the ground. I don’t pin/bolt the uprights, as the guides and 2x8s are bolted together with 3/8 bolts and the force of the hammock locks it in place. I have 2 deck screw ¾” from the bottom edge so they don’t slip through to the ground.

The 2x4 uprights are 6’ apart where they come out of the base, outside edge to outside edge.

I’ll probably redo the guides where they are a little tighter. I left a little to much space. But it works okay of you get the ridgeline tighter than normal, to compensate for the pull/ shift of the uprights. It loosens up when you get in the hammock.

The feet are made the same way with a piece of 2x6 that slips into the space between the 2x8’s. I have tee nuts in the bottom of one of them, but my local hardware was short on pieces so I still need to get the correct size bolts for other foot and install them there.

The ENO is a DN Deluxe before I swapped out some bolts and rounded the ends. The other hammock is my DIY.

Thanks. It seemed to me some of the stands get over complicated. This is kinda a proto type to test the idea.

I had some mods and material ideas even before I started... the 2x4 does flex, and I would not put ore than one person in it with out having some zing it running from the uprights to some eyes in the feet, which I might add later.
