    quilts on claytor

Some of you in here got me thinking about trying to switch from a pad to a quilt.

Anyone ever try a kickass quilt on a claytor jungle hammock? They seem to be designed for the HH, like the JRB Nest is. As a result, the sides tend not to hold onto the claytor hammock and all the warm air just escapes. The sides flop.

Last night I slept out in the backyard in my claytor. At first I tried using my nest. However, the sides flop and I just got cold so I switched to a pad. Then I was toasty all night. I might try the quilt again tonight.

I tried using a quilt last year and didn't have much luck, but figured I'd try again. So many people seem to love them. I am just not having luck staying warm with mine. Maybe I just need a heavier quilt.

I prefer synthetic and camo this is why I am looking at the kickass again.

I am shipping one out today to a customer who has the Claytor. We'll just have to see how he does with it. I've not ever seen a Claytor so can't really predict how it will go. One thing you might think about doing it to sew a ribbon tie out to the sides of your hammock where the side tie outs for the KAQ are and then you could tie that up to the sides and hold it in place better.

Yea, that's exactly what I was thinking about the loops. I think the elastic bands will make all the difference in the world. I'll tell ya what, I'll order one today too if you can ship it out with the other one.

I'll try it out, and if I like it, I'll keep it. I like your satisfaction guarantee.

Any reason you use the SS with a Heat Sheet vs. using a kickass quilt? I would think you would want to use your own product....lol

I already had that SS long before I got into making these. I will be using one if I ever get around to making one for myself!!! I have one ahead of yours. So, it will be Monday before I can get started on yours.

The loops I was talking about would go on your hammock not the quilt. Just something there to match up with the side tieouts of the quilt. Help to hold up the side of the quilt.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking. Monday will be fine. I wouldn't get it in time for this weekend anyways....lol

I submitted my order. I noticed on your site is says to notify you if the order is for a large hammock. My claytor is large so I sent you an email....lol

Thanks. I look forward to my new quilt. I will try it out the day I get it.

Another option would be to tie a string to the side of the quilt strap and throw it over my bugnet, then tie it to the other side of the quilt strap. The loops will likely be much better.

I'll let ya'll know how it works on the Claytor.
