    My First Tarp!

I just wanted to share my recent project: 11ft ridge-line, with 30" "doors" loosely based on the Superfly. To close the doors you need to pitch it fairly tall, but otherwise works great! Sil-nylon came from Noah Lamport 2nds, 7/8" grosgrain edging and 5/8 grosgrain tie-outs with 1/2" Beastee Dee D-rings.

I finished sewing Saturday and seam sealed Sunday. Just need to add panel pulls and it's 100% done!

I didn't realize how huge this would actually be when I started, lol. I have enough material for a 2nd tarp - originally planned to just eliminate the doors and make a mamajamba clone. I think I'll target something a little smaller, like an edge.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks! Closer inspection will show the DIY "flaws". Somewhat crooked seams, etc. But I'm pretty proud of it, it came out really well. My only projects prior to this were about 3 hammocks in 1.9 oz ripstop, and a few small stuff sacks for them. This was my first time sewing sil-nylon.

I did have to patch it already. I nicked one of the doors with my scissors while making it somehow...A small patch glued on with silicone seems to have done the trick though,
