Burrow Footbox - Snap or Sew

Okay, I just ordered a 40* Burrow (ARGON baby ) with the Snapped footbox, thinking it was a good idea to save a bit of cash. I know it wasn't a lot of savings, but I figured I really didn't need it. After my purchase I am now having a bit of buyers remorse. Should I have opted for the Sew? Suggestions for those of you with a burrow?

    Thanks

No worries buddy, I would only opt for a sewn footbox for a true winter quilt. You'll have some extra versatility with venting when using it in the warmer weather...Bush

Burrow Footbox - Snap or Sew

I have sewn on my 0f burrow and snaps on my 50f. Find it good that I can ventilate when it gets really hot

    Remorse?

Who knows whether the resistance to release of snaps will be just right for your use, including how carefully you insert your feet? Wow, would that ever be a trick to calibrate!!.

If it isn't right, why not just hand stitch it yourself? Done carefully and in less than a few minutes. You may only need to stitch near the top snap if that is the one most likely to open and start a cascade. Stitch through seams and there's no possibility of damage, and the work will be easy to undo.

If I were to order a 40° quilt I would go with the snap foot box. The reason for this is, on a warm night, it would be good to have the foot box open for better ventilation. I have the sewn footbox on my 20° Burrow which helps keep my feet toasty when it is cold out and it helps hold my foot pad in place when sleeping with my 20° Phoenix.

So in my humble opinion you made the right choice. My advice is to enjoy your new quilt and don't look back. If for some reason you cannot live with it, let me know and we can probably come to some arrangement as I have been thinking of acquiring one for myself.

All very good points. So far, I love my underquilt and tarp from HG. I know I will love my TQ as well. It will be nice to lighten my load by ditching my mummy bag. Thanks everyone for your input.

I have a 50,40,20 and 0 Burrow and all have sewn foot boxes. Personally I am just not a fan of snaps. If my feet get hot I stick them on top of the TQ cold I snuggle them inside.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

For those that have the snap version. Do you have any problems with your feet accidentally opening the snaps when you put your your feet in? I have an omnitape opening on my synthetic quilt and it drives me crazy. I recently hand stitched it closed because it ripped open literally every time I tried to put my feet in. Do you have this problem with the Burrow?

This is one of my concerns. Interested in what others with Snaps are experiencing...
