Exclamation 30D Camo nylon? It can't be!

Hey everyone, I know some if you are big Camo nuts and through my searches I've found a few sources of camoflogue ripstop, but the lightest was 1.9oz/sqyd. I want to share my findings of an uncoated, digital Camo 1.1oz/sqyd I just found, and I know that this will make all of our fellow Jarheads on the forums drool a bit, it's the MARPAT woodland digital, complete with randomly placed Eagle Globe and Anchor emblems. Semper Fi!

Almost brings a tear to my eye.

I don't know about Marpat, but 30D camo is common.

Drats. I'll make sure to secure my thunder a bit better next time so it doesn't get stolen again...
I've had a pretty hard time finding light weight camo in the past...

    It's my first day...

Yep, and their 1.4 oz/sq yd woodland pattern makes a very nice hammock; it's what my DIY is made out of.

Rockywoods has one of the better selections of camo fabric available retail. It's unfortunate that they don't have lightweight waterproof camo, but that's about as common as hen's teeth (I think Warbonnet and Wilderness Logics are the only companies carrying that, as far as I know).

I've been up in the are about which weight fabric I should get. I just recently read some figures in another post saying 1.1 will give a good flat lay for someone up to 145lbs. So I had been considering something like 1.5 to alleviate the stretch a bit.

Have you seen Papa Smurf's handy-dandy chart on fabric weight vs. comfort? It's very useful...

That being said, I've found 1.1 to be okay for me at ~190 lbs. Personally, I use 1.4 oz/sq yd, but that's due to the print rather than the weight. Honestly, I can't detect a difference in the stretch between the two at my weight.

    Hope it helps!

It does indeed FLRider! Thanks! I'll be heading over to take a look at that chart momentarily, i'm sure it'll help.

Not a problem. I've found it to be true for my weight; can't comment on the heavier weight folks, though.

I have a 11 ft DIY 1.0 (might be 1.1) double camo rip-stop hammock that holds my 280 lbs. Very comfortable. Got the fabric from Blood Disease a while back.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
