    June GSMNP Hike

Hiking with Roche June 14-16, 2013

Roche is working on his 900 miles in the Smokies and invited me on a "killer" hike. It had a lot of elevation changes and major creek crossings. We caught a perfect weekend with nice temps at elevation. This was one to remember.

Looks like another fun time pal ... the PSA at the end reminded me of a father trying to get his young'ns to pick up there stuff! Always amazes me how people can't pick up after themselves or do something as simple as clip those cables back in place. Or even haul out what they bring into the woods! ARRRGGGHHHHH

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

It was a great hike with an outstanding hiking partner. Hangnout can make a trip to the DMV pleasant.

You certainly have creek crossing cred; fortunately it was not 24F degrees.

Leaving trash is a felony; a cable violation is a misdemeanor

No ticks but we did switch to long pants for overgrown Jenkins Ridge Trail.

Thanks for the shout out Roche.
Up and over the spine of the Smokies!
We know the Bote Mtn. Trail to the AT up and down....yes wouldn't want to repeat
    Dogman interview, excellent.
10 hours in the hammy, heard that!
Good spotting HNO on the Eagle crossing...a big hearted Roche.
Hair wet! How funny. She'll laugh when she sees this
    ....oh, love Roche's dew rag.
Poles! You're killing me and all the SHOUT OUTS-felt like I was there.
Spence Shelter looks good. We lunched there on a loop via Spence Trail and Anthony Creek as a night hike when we found out Scott Mtn. Trail was closed back in the fall. Very nice what the Park did to this shelter...I remembered it from the AT days back when it was fenced in.
Physically what you guys did a remarkable feat indeed.....I hate getting old.
Wonderful video guys. Made me heart sick in many ways good and bad.
p.s. Roche I'll put the bear cables up properly next time.
