I have seen that! But I always question the durability of jansport's stuff after seeing their backpacks fall apart all through school. Maybe their outdoor gear is made to a higher standard?

I used a jansport for years before upgrading to a ULA. The pack I used was well made and never had any failures with straps, buckles, etc. I used and abused this pc of gear and it still has a lot of life left in it. I have no complaints about the functionality of their packs. Weight in the other hand was what led me to other options.
JS has (or had) lifetime warrantee. Used it once on a D2 and enjoyed a brand new pack, thank you JS! Never had a JS 'school' pack, can't say there.
Still have my bobcat65 a year plus later, I've overloaded, overstuffed, dragged, dropped and it still goin strong

Ship any jansport pack back.and they repair or.replace... cannot complain about that!
