Post Hello from Boone, NC (and Rock Hill, SC)

Hey everyone, my name is Seth, and I'm new to the hammock camping scene.
I own a Navy/Olive Eno DoubleNest hammock with Insect Shield, and a pair of Eno Atlas Straps.
I attend Appalachian State University in the mountains of North Carolina (Boone, NC to be exact),
but have a permanent residence in Rock Hill, SC.

I like to hammock camp with a good friend of mine Daniel, hotrod1016,
who introduced me to the Hammock Forums.
I enjoy my hammock to read in, take naps, sleep over night, and live in when I don't have a place to live.

I'd like to learn more about hammocks, hammock camping, modifications to gear,
alternative uses and methods, and about the people who are passionate about hammocking.
From what I've heard, this is a great community to get to know people who are interested in what I am.

I look forward to familiarizing myself with the forums and getting to know everyone.

    Thanks,
    Seth

Hello from Boone, NC (and Rock Hill, SC)

Welcome to the forum. Check out Shug's videos.
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.

    welcome to the madness.

I use to live in Banner Elk just a few miles away from Happy Appy. Lots of great places to camp and hike up there. Footsloggers was the outfitters to go to in the 70's in Boone.

We use to wait until a snow storm was schedule to hit and then hike up Grandfather Mt to camp out.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Welcome to the madness Seth. If you would like to check out my kit just give me a shout. Gunner is right Footsloggers is still the place to go. Check with Mothership there she thru hiked the AT using a Blackbird. Grandfather Mtn and Elk Knob State Parks and Price Park are all hammock friendly.
