I have been using dynaglide whoopies for my tarp doors for over a year. I have found that adjustment does require a significant amount of slack. I have mine on about 6" of 1/16" shockcord. They have only given me hassle a few times when it was cold and I was exhausted. Just don't crank down on them; you need some slack in that shockcord for adjustment.

OK, now I'M confused Talk about a smorgasbord That's actually a great idea for someone trying to decide which method works best for them.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of green dynaglide myself

Marlinspike isn't my idea, I saw it around here somewhere...

Whoopies wouldnt work but UCRs would work fine. But personally I would just use a Taut-Line Hitch and be done with it. Or buy some of those Line Locks off the hammock forums store. Dirt cheap and they work great.

As much problems as I had with them on my hammock's tension, ill pass on using them as guy-lines with the tarp tensions. Simple line-locs or taut-line hitch works great for me..But if it works for you then awesome. I just remember them always being a pain to loosen when pulled too taut. Its like SilvrSurfr said, you kind of need 3 hands for them sometimes. The line-loks are only $1.09 for a pair which is pretty cheap.
