Nice! Plus if you get that Wards machine straight, you'll have backup!
Like someone said earlier, the 501a was and all metal gear machine exactly the same as the 401a with updated but flimsy casings. Which has to be true because the only reason I don't own one is every one I've seen but one had a broken hinge on one of the doors.
You got a great machine, that machine will last you a lifetime and then last someone else a lifetime as long as it's decently maintained. And hey, $90 for a fully serviced 401a with all those feet? You just can't go wrong!
Now go to the "Show us your thread injector." thread and Pics or it didn't happen
Fulfillment is living a life that makes the lives of others worth living.
DIY is addicting and fulfilling!
"If guns kill people, then pencils mispell words, cars cause people to drink and drive, and spoons made Rosie O'donnell fat."
Once I get it back from the shop I will be sure to do so..It is missing the Top Cover that has the Picture of all the Stitch Letter/Number combinations on the inside and the Thread tension knob has been replaced with a new one but still have 80% of the old knob. So I will be looking for a 401a that has a motor that reached the end of its life, to strip for parts. None of this will affect its performance, just looks is all.
It's like a new member of the family!
