I'd suggest playing with the amount of sag you have. With a piece of fabric that big you should not have any trouble finding a sweet spot. I've also found that if my head end is not low enough I notice a little calf pressure. I have to put my head end about a foot lower than my foot end. (that could just be me though)

Re: Eliminating the ridge in a gathered end hammock

+1. Increase your sag a lot and put the foot end 12" higher than the head end... you might find that to be enough..

Adjust sag, with a ridgeline you mean? I haven't even started playing with those yet, but I'll be happy to start if you guys think it'll help.

Ridge line will help. Start at ~83% of the flat distance between the attachment points.

A ridgeline makes it easier to get a consistent hang.... I like mine a lot shorter than 83%... more like 78... fiddle with it until you like it.

Eliminating the ridge in a gathered end hammock

U dont have to have a ridge line, just move ur straps up the tree a little and loosen ur suspension, or find two trees a little closer together. Also, if u can't get it dialed in maybe post a pic? It might help troubleshoot the problem.

Mountnman, glad you posted this. Thought you told me 72'' in Damascus, but wasn't sure. Now I know what the next project is!
