Camping on the Mississippi river at Memphis

We went yesterday morning and checked out the camp spot then went back and moved and secured the truck and trailer. The river is at 17.5 feet which is perfect for the island facing Memphis. The weather is very unusual for Memphis right now. We had 63 degrees last night and 83 during the day.

    Good food, Good times.

The river is at a great level right now and is suppose to rise a couple of feet over the next few days. The ONLY down side to camping there is a plant to the north runs 24/7 and is quite noisy.

Maybe we could hang under the bridge next

I didn't get into hammock camping until after I left Desoto County and returned to Central Florida. My Mom is still out there though. That whole Arkabutla Lake area was great hiking. I lived in a dilapidated barn deep in the woods off of 304 in Hernando for 10 months.

I like that area down around Eudora. I've done a lot of hunting and fishing down there. Never done any hiking.
