    First hang

Hey y'all! I joined this forum a year or two ago.. Insert life story.. Well now I'm finally going on a three day two night hike with my homemade hammock and tarp tomorrow. I'm going to Shenandoah Valley and I can't wait. No technology or world distractions.

Great to hear! Look up before you hang and enjoy. It really doesn't get much better than that.

Well it was an amazing learning experience as far as my limitations and a few things I should have brought. It was a bit cooler at night than I anticipated so that was.. Well cold. There was also a bear walking around my setup a few times. Surprisingly despite this I woke up with the sun at 530 and was ready to enjoy the day. Hiked about 30 miles in the 28 hours I was there. Definitely cutting that number down lol. Also needed to lower one end of the Hammy.

Very cool. Any excessive interest by the bear?
