    before i hack this up

I got this netting for what I hope to be a amazing deal if I can get it all to work out right. I presume it's military. tag say's insect net protector. It's dimensions are folded length wise 197x60 total it's 4 pcs sewed together at it's widest section from seam to edge is 30". I really wanted to make 2 nets outta this 1 pc but thinking it's not gonna work so thought i'd ask before I started cutting it up

I don't see how you could two nets out of that. That net is designed for ground dwellers. I'd probably flip it upside down and make the top the bottom. Sew the bottom together and that will be supported by your hammock ridgeline. Then trim the ends down to length of hammock ridgeline plus 10 or 12 inches. Sew in a channel on the bottom (which was once the top), run shock cord through it and you're good to go.

Follow Fronkey's instructions and you should come out with something serviceable (though heavy).
