    question

anyone know what size the cord is on ENO tarps? Purchased in 2010...

I like the line locks and wanted to get something else to replace my terrible looking lines. The inside basically started pulling out almost as soon as I got it.

I don't think the dia. of the cord will matter as long as the strength is high enough, I assume you are replacing the cord right?

I have an ENO Dryfly and I replaced the lines. I can tell you that Techline from DIYGEAR.com is small enough that the line locks don't hold very well and I have to use half-hitches. I do have some glowline (lawsonequipment says it is about 2.38mm) that holds better. If I had to guess though I would say the stop line is a slight bit bigger and not coated with anything which makes it easier for the lines to hold. Hope that is helpful.

Check the HF store for mini line locs. The idea is to get lighter in most applications w/o sacrificing comfort. This would be one of those times IMO.

    question

    Some places carry 2.2mm lash-it.

It works, but its still slippery cordage, and I would wager it couldn't hold up to bad storms or wind.

Its a shame the cordage they use seperates from the core so quickly.. I liked it..

Good luck with your search, if you find a good replacement, let us know!

i like the line locks on the tarp and was hoping to just replace the cord. I am looking at glowire from Lawson equipment. I ordered a superfly and was thinking about adding that to it as well.

I had the same problem with the core breaking through the braid on my dry fly. I just ordered some nite ize reflective cord that claims a 2.4 mm diameter. Came pretty cheap so I figured it was worth a shot. Due to be delivered today and I'm going for a hang this weekend. I'll update here with how it works out.

Update, the nite ize cord measures the listed 2.4mm and will slip slightly through the stock line locks on my dry fly if pulled hard. The stock lines slipped a bit too under hard tension. Will still work if backed up with a slippery half hitch though. Best bet is probably something close to 3mm with low stretch and without any kind of slick coating.
