Ok I checked out my hammock and the regular nx 250 does not have a pistol pouch I guess you have to order the tactical model. There is a very small pocket on the left side but it would have to be a very small handgun so whats the point.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

I could be wrong but I think all the 250's have the pistol pocket. Check yours again - one end of the pouch is not sewn shut to allow for the barrel of the handgun to protrude. Slide the barrel down thru the top into the open end with the grip upwards. Almost any size handgun should fit.

    Small internal storage pockets complaint

    Small internal storage pockets complaint:

Yes, and one solution is to clip a $1 mini-carabiner or snap ring over the hand-grip strap sewn into the head-end channel--what, every hammock doesn't have a strap? Every Clark does-- and then attach a pouch of your choice to that mini-biner.

Ok I found it just did not notice that two ends were open, thanks.

    Hi,
First thing I changed on my nx-150 was the suspension. I changed it to a strap/cinch buckle like the Warbonnet Blackbird. Sets up in less than a minute now!

Yes, as Passinthrough points out, the pocket above your left shoulder (when lying in the hammock) is the pistol pocket. As he says, turn your handgun upside down and slide the muzzle end into the top of the pocket and out the open end, which is the one on the head end of the hammock. Muzzle points toward the head of the hammock, away from yourself, grip pointing upward where it is very easy to grab in a hurry if needed. I have had many sizes of handguns in mine. I have only run into a problem when a revolver I had was quite large, and then the grip was heavy enough that it was top heavy and wanted to tip over the whole thing, pocket and all. But that was a pretty large revolver. A steel 1911 type pistol does just fine, and any of the polymer pistols should work very well. Hope this helps.
Love your enemies, but keep your gun oiled!

I'll have to check my nx-250 this week for the gun holder when I go to the nat'l forest again for a hang.
As far as tree straps I have been using them.
Goin to order the whoopie sling all in one for it.
